The Athens Cultural Center is presenting a free summer music series taking place in Athens Riverfront Park and focusing on the diverse musical landscape of the greater Hudson Valley. The series will highlight local and regional artists, and collaborate with Hudson Valley community groups to provide artist Q & A and open sound checks to the youth of Ulster, Greene, and Columbia counties as an educational opportunity. This opportunity is free and open to all, parents please bring your kids if you think they would be interested!
Through soaring vocal textures and R&B/afrobeat-influenced rhythms, Lady Moon and the Eclipse create inspirational music that explores the Cosmic Soul. Lady Moon carries the essence of the Moon sending a message of love, peace, and light, while the musicians serve as the Sun shining light upon her. The audience represents the Earth, also known as the Star People of Earth, completing the metaphorical eclipse. A very special finale to ACC’s first Summer Music Series!
Open Sound Check: 2-330pm
Youth Q & A: 330pm
Music: 5-7pm
