Qigong

Saturdays 10 -11:15am
With Carl Thomsen and Barbara Schofield Thomsen

Qigong pronounced “chi gong,” was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Qigong has both psychological and physical components and involves the regulation of the mind, breath, and body’s movement and posture. Often associated with Tai Chi, Qigong is a precursor.

While excellent for all ages, Qigong is particularly beneficial for the elderly or physically handicapped as it is slow and easy to follow. Participants can do Qigong sitting in a chair. It also excellent for developing balance and coordination.

My classes simple meditation practices for increasing mindfulness, concentration, self-awareness, and relaxation.
