Summer Recreation

The Athens Cultural Center is proud to partner with the Village of Athens in programming 5 weeks of Summer Recreation for local youth in grades K–6. Join us for outdoor fun and games, arts and crafts, and creative activities designed to encourage play, imagination, and connection.

Athens Summer Rec Schedule

Monday, June 29 - Friday, July 31, 2026

The Athens Cultural Center is programming Fridays throughout the Summer Recreation schedule with teaching artist Monika Zarzeczna. Join us on July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 for hands-on, free, creative activities.

July 3: Charcoal Portraits

July 10: Animals and Textures in Charcoal

July 17: Printmaking

July 23: Abstract Shaped Paintings (inspired by Elizabeth Murray)
