ACC partners with the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District to bring high-quality programs in music, theater, visual arts, and dance directly into K–12 schools and classrooms.
Led by professional teaching artists, these in-school experiences expand access to the arts while nurturing creativity, confidence, collaboration, and self-expression in every student. They invite students to deepen their engagement, discovering new ways of seeing and shaping the world.

Coxsackie-Athens, grades 8-12, Catskill Mountain Shakespeare is coming to you!

A bold new take on Shakespeare’s classic, this high-energy production of Hamlet is set in the rebellious spirit of the 1980s exploring themes of authority, identity, and resistance through a fresh, accessible lens. Fast-paced and engaging, this 90-minute performance brings Shakespeare to life in a way that feels immediate, relevant, and alive.

CORA DANCE IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCY
March 6-7, 2025
Led by Artistic Director Shannon Hummel, alongside dancers Nikki Assanti and Keon Washington, Cora Dance led two days of in-school workshops at Coxsackie-Athens Middle School, integrated into regularly scheduled gym classes. Students in grades 4–8 explored movement through hip-hop and modern dance in a series of arts-based experiences inspired by Cora Dance’s new performance Because. Reaching over 300 students, the workshops invited participants to connect movement with personal interests and narratives.

Visiting Artist Ira Marcks

Award-winning graphic novelist Ira Marcks led a day of in-school workshops at Coxsackie-Athens High School, integrated into regular studio classes. Students in grades 9–12 explored comics and cartooning, learning the fundamentals of creating comics with a strong visual narrative. -

Hip Hop & Her Family
November 18, 2023
Led by Alicia Raquel Morales with Marcus McGregor, this intergenerational workshop celebrated Hip Hop at 50 through dance, conversation, and community gathering. Held at E.J.A. Elementary School Gymnasium, participants explored foundational hip hop movement, learned about the origins of hip hop culture and its family lineages, created original choreography, and shared a communal meal. Open to all ages and abilities, the program required no prior dance experience and welcomed participants of all levels of physical mobility.
