LANDSCAPE PAINTING AT ATHENS RIVERSIDE PARK Area oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel or pencil artists can enjoy 10 Tuesday evening art classes beginning on July 6th and running through September 7th. Classes run from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and meet at the Athens Riverside Park (in the event of inclement weather, classes will be held inside the Athens Cultural Center on Second Street) Many previous years students agree - this was the most enjoyable class they ever attended and did not want to see it end! Come early and enjoy your dinner at the Riverside Restaurant (located across the street) or dine "plein air" on a picnic table overlooking the scenic Hudson River. As the class begins, enjoy the company of your fellow artists, some good, solid instruction and loads of inspiration. This class is for beginner, intermediate and advanced students who are interested in studying traditional methods of painting. This course is designed to take advantage of the historic Hudson River School landscape painting techniques and will explore painting sunsets on the Hudson River. Individual instruction is the hallmark of this class. Class size is limited to 16 students. Instructor: Robert A. Lahm's Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts (advertising design & illustration); Montclair Art Museum School. Mr. Lahm has worked as a commercial illustrator for more than 35 years and is an avid landscape and wildlife painter.
